Among the later members of the baby boomer generation, I was born less than a month before the assassination of President Kennedy. Over the course of my lifetime, I have witnessed profound changes in our society. While there are many contributing factors, I firmly believe that one of the central causes has been a turning away from God and from enduring Christian values.
Originally from Michigan, I was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, and from an early age I took my oaths to God and country very seriously. Those early commitments formed the foundation of a life oriented toward service and responsibility. I left the state in the early 1980s to serve in the United States Marine Corps, completing my service following the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Military service strengthened the values first learned in Scouting—discipline, duty, honor, and fidelity—principles that continue to guide my life. I later resettled in Georgia approximately 15 years ago, where I raised my three children. The youngest reached adulthood just last month. My spouse and I are deeply grateful for our family and value the time we are blessed to spend together.
My personal interests include preserving history through the digitization of family photographs and records for future generations. I am currently retired and devoted to caring for my elderly parent, who is no longer able to live independently. This season of life has reinforced for me the importance of humility, patience, and service.
I was baptized and came to faith in a Southern Baptist church in 1972. Although I have long identified as a Christian, I now feel called to deepen my walk with God and to seek a more personal and faithful relationship with Jesus Christ. I desire not only to profess my faith, but to live it daily through obedience, service, and love for others. Viewed in this light, my interest in the Knights Templar represents a natural continuation of a lifelong path of service—beginning with Scouting, strengthened through military service, and now expressed through Christian devotion, moral discipline, and brotherhood. I believe the Knights Templar offers a meaningful and honorable way to place faith into action by supporting Christian values, defending the faith, and serving others.
