A Life Worthy of Respect
Scripture — Titus 2:2 (NIV)
“Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.”
As we grow older, God calls us not simply to grow in years, but to grow in character. Titus 2:2 gives older men a powerful calling: to become examples of what a faithful life looks like.
To be temperate is to live with balance and restraint. To be worthy of respect means our lives should demonstrate integrity rather than demand honour from others. Self-control means allowing the Holy Spirit to govern our words, emotions, decisions, and actions.
But Paul goes deeper. We are called to be sound in faith, love, and endurance. Faith keeps us trusting God when circumstances are difficult. Love teaches us to treat others with grace and patience. Endurance enables us to keep standing when life becomes hard.
Older men have a unique responsibility because younger generations are watching. Our families, friends, churches, and communities learn from what we do, not merely from what we say.
Your testimony is still being written. Every day gives you another opportunity to demonstrate Christlike strength, humility, wisdom, and faithfulness.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to become the man You have called me to be. Give me self-control when I am tested, wisdom when I must lead, love when others are difficult, and endurance when the road becomes hard. May my life bring honour to You and become an example of faithful Christian living to those who follow me. Amen.

Reflection:
If someone watched my life rather than listened to my words, would they see a man who is sound in faith, love, and endurance?
Have a blessed day
