Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged.
As I suspect most do, I struggle with this. I genuinely try to live by this. But as an attorney of 27 years, it is very difficult. I try to give people I perceive to be problems the benefit of the doubt. But I've dealt with the worst people imaginable. And it has bitten me many times. I once had a client I had represented for years, and whose two then-current felony cases I had just won (despite the fact he was guilty) burglarize my home. His daughter had even been one of my paralegals at one time. The client's burglary crew removed my safe while I was on vacation for two days with my family. First time off in five years. I lost $300,000. It's now hard for me to suspend judging. And to forgive. Yet, I know I must try.
I'm much more of an "eye for an eye" guy than a "turn the other cheek" guy.
I can't be alone in this. Does anyone else struggle with not judging and forgiving?
