I believe we have a responsibility to protect Christianity by standing firmly on the truth of Scripture, defending our freedom to practice our faith, and ensuring that its teachings are passed on to the next generation. Jude 1:3 calls believers to contend for the faith entrusted to God’s people. That responsibility means knowing what we believe, having the courage to speak about it, and living faithfully when doing so is difficult.
The ideals of faith, service, and brotherhood that draw me to the Templars carry real responsibilities. First Corinthians 16:13–14 calls us to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, and be courageous and strong, while doing everything in love. First Peter 3:15 reminds us to be ready to explain the hope we have, with gentleness and respect. Together, those passages give us a standard for how we defend and represent our faith.
For me, that work begins at home. As a husband and father, I want my daughters to see a man who takes his faith seriously and strives to follow Christ in his daily decisions. It extends into our communities through serving those in need, supporting our churches, and standing beside fellow Christians facing hardship. James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead. Our commitment should be visible in what we do.
I also recognize that I have much to learn. Proverbs 27:17 teaches that iron sharpens iron, and I look forward to growing alongside brothers and sisters who will encourage me, challenge me, and hold me accountable to the faith we share.
I enter this journey with gratitude, conviction, and a willingness to serve. May God guide my steps and help me honor Him in the responsibilities ahead. I look forward to getting to know each of you!
To God be the glory!
