Mother's Day; Isaiah 66:13: "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you."

It is so amazing how the Lord compares a mother's comfort to His comfort. It is a strong statement to say mothers are the closes example we will ever have to knowing what the Lord's love feels like. In saying that, the Bible reveals the beauty of being a mother, being a woman of God and the wisdom gained. My personal journey with motherhood showed me the true love and compassion He feels for me, even the moments of frustration. The understanding of why He builds us the way He does.
  • Proverbs 31:26: "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."
This is a reminder of what we as women, as mothers, are supposed to represent and exhibit. When I was young I never really understood why were represented as the "weaker." Truth is, it is so much harder to have a soft heart in a hard world, one that hates people for sometimes the smallest of reasons. As mothers, as women, our job is to teach the strength of a kind heart. And the comfort and mercy we are required as Christians to show others. This isn't always an easy task but it is one of the most honored tasks anyone would ever have given from the Lord.

  • Proverbs 31:28–29: "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'"
This Bible verse really represents the blessing of parenthood, whether that be biological, step or even adoption. It, also, represents how God views motherhood. It isn't for everyone but for those who are called to parenthood, it is the most selfless act you will ever face.

I leave you with this Bible verse;

  • Proverbs 31:31: "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
