There’s something many are missing here… and once you see it, it changes how you read these passages completely.
People often claim the catching up happens after the tribulation, pointing to Matthew 24 and Revelation 19.
But instead of assuming—let’s look at what the Scripture actually shows.
Because the catching up is not vague. It is clearly defined:
“The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them… to meet the Lord in the air…”... moreThere’s something many are missing here… and once you see it, it changes how you read these passages completely.
People often claim the catching up happens after the tribulation, pointing to Matthew 24 and Revelation 19.
But instead of assuming—let’s look at what the Scripture actually shows.
Because the catching up is not vague. It is clearly defined:
“The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them… to meet the Lord in the air…” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV)
And:
“We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed… in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye…” — 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 (KJV)
So this event includes:
The dead in Christ rising
The living being changed
A meeting with the Lord in the air
Now pause and ask honestly:
👉 Do you see ANY of that in Matthew 24?
Look at Matthew 24 carefully:
“He shall send his angels… and they shall gather together his elect…” — Matthew 24:31 (KJV)
What is happening?
Angels are sent
A gathering takes place
It is after the tribulation
But what is missing is just as important:
❌ No dead rising
❌ No transformation
❌ No meeting the Lord in the air
❌ No catching up described
This is angels gathering on earth—not believers meeting Christ in the air.
Now look at Revelation 19:
“And the armies which were in heaven followed him…” — Revelation 19:14 (KJV)
Here we see:
Christ returning in glory
Saints already with Him
Coming from heaven to earth
But again—notice what is not there:
❌ No dead rising
❌ No transformation
❌ No catching up
❌ No meeting in the air
Instead, the saints are already in heaven and return with Him.
Now think this through carefully:
If the catching up happens after the tribulation…
👉 Where is the resurrection of the dead?
👉 Where is the transformation of the living?
👉 Where is the meeting in the air?
It’s not in Matthew 24.
It’s not in Revelation 19.
Because those passages are not describing that event.
This is where confusion happens—different passages are being merged into one timeline when they are describing different moments.
When you let the Bible speak plainly:
1 Thessalonians 4 / 1 Corinthians 15
➡️ Dead rise
➡️ Living changed
➡️ Meet the Lord in the air
Matthew 24
➡️ After tribulation
➡️ Angels gathering on earth
Revelation 19
➡️ Christ returns
➡️ Saints come WITH Him
That distinction matters.
This isn’t about arguing—it’s about being honest with the text.
📖 “Study to shew thyself approved… rightly dividing the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
And if you’re reading this and you’re not saved—this matters more than any timeline.
Your hope is in what Jesus already finished for you.
📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)
Truth doesn’t need to be forced.
It just needs to be seen. đź‘€
