“FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD BUT IN POWER.” — 1 CORINTHIANS 4:20
Many Christians have been taught:
❌ “Tongues ceased.”
❌ “Tongues were only for the apostles.”
❌ “That was only Pentecost.”
❌ “God doesn't operate that way anymore.”
But before you accept a doctrine, ask one question:
WHERE DOES SCRIPTURE ACTUALLY SAY THAT?
Don't build your theology from tradition.
SEARCH THE WORD.

🔥 JESUS SAID—ASK.
📖 LUKE 11:13
Jesus teaches that the heavenly Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.
Jesus didn't say:
“Don't ask.”
“Don't seek.”
“Don't expect the Spirit.”
He pointed His disciples toward the Father.
ASK. SEEK. RECEIVE FROM GOD.
🔥 JESUS SAID—BE BORN OF THE SPIRIT.
📖 JOHN 3:5–8
Jesus declared that we must be born of 💦 WATER and the 🕊️ SPIRIT.
Then He explained:
🌿 “The wind blows where it wishes…”
🕊️ The Holy Spirit cannot be placed inside a human theological cage.
🕊️ He is not controlled by denomination.
🕊️ He is not controlled by tradition.
🕊️ He is not controlled by human opinion.
🕊️ THE SPIRIT BLOWS WHERE HE WILLS.
🔥 JESUS IS THE BAPTIZER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
📖 JOHN 1:33
John testified that Jesus is the One who:
“baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”
Not a denomination.
Not an institution.
Not a theological system.
JESUS.
🔥 THEN LOOK AT ACTS.
📖 ACTS 2:4
“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
The source was not human manipulation.
THE SPIRIT GAVE THE UTTERANCE.
🔥 THEN ACTS 10.
📖 ACTS 10:44–46
The Holy Spirit fell upon Gentile believers.
Peter's companions heard them:
“speak with tongues and magnify God.”
The gift was not presented as something reserved permanently for one ethnic group.
GENTILES RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT.
🔥 NOW HEAR PAUL.
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 12–14
Paul teaches extensively about spiritual gifts, including:
• tongues
• interpretation
• prophecy
• discernment
• edification
• order
• love
And then:
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 14:39
“DO NOT FORBID TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES.”
That's not a command to manufacture tongues.
It is not permission for disorder.
It is not an invitation to counterfeit manifestations.
It is a warning:
DON'T FORBID WHAT SCRIPTURE DOES NOT FORBID.
🔥 BUT WHAT ABOUT 1 CORINTHIANS 13:8–10?
Yes—Paul says:
“Whether there are tongues, they will cease.”
We must not hide that verse.
But keep reading.
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 13:9
“For we know in part and we prophesy in part.”
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 13:10
“But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.”
The critical question is:
WHAT IS “THAT WHICH IS PERFECT”?
The passage itself does not explicitly say:
“when the apostles die.”
It does not explicitly say:
“when the first century ends.”
It does not explicitly say:
“when the New Testament canon is completed.”
Those are interpretations.
And Paul continues:
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 13:12
“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.”
NOW.
THEN.
“Now I know in part…”
“Then I shall know just as I also am known.”
Whatever position you hold, don't remove verse 8 from verses 9–12.
READ THE WHOLE PASSAGE.
🔥 AND HERE IS THE BALANCE.
We should never teach:
“Every Christian must speak in tongues.”
Why?
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 12:11
The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts:
“as He wills.”
So:
❌ Don't pressure people.
❌ Don't manipulate people.
❌ Don't manufacture tongues.
❌ Don't imitate another person's sounds.
❌ Don't create counterfeit manifestations.
But also:
❌ Don't forbid a biblical gift because of tradition.
🔥 NOW LOOK AT THE BODY OF THE BELIEVER.
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19
“Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.”
Think about the weight of that statement.
The Holy Spirit is not merely a theological concept.
God's Spirit dwells in His people.
Your body belongs to God.
Your life belongs to God.
Your speech belongs to God.
Your worship belongs to God.
Your gifts belong to God.
THE TEMPLE DOES NOT BELONG TO TRADITION.
🔥 AND THIS IS WHY 1 CORINTHIANS 4:20 MATTERS.
Paul says:
“For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.”
Christianity is not merely:
talk.
Not merely:
religious vocabulary.
Not merely:
denominational identity.
Not merely:
theological arguments.
The kingdom of God is demonstrated in power.
But biblical power is never separated from biblical truth.
POWER WITHOUT TRUTH CAN BECOME DECEPTION.
TRUTH WITHOUT THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT CAN BECOME EMPTY RELIGIOUS FORM.
We need both:
TRUTH + SPIRIT + LOVE + OBEDIENCE.

🔥 THIS IS NOT ABOUT CHASING TONGUES.
🌿 It is about knowing the Holy Spirit.
🌿 It is about Jesus Christ.
🌿 It is about walking in the Spirit.
🌿 It is about being transformed.
🌿 It is about power to witness.
🌿 It is about holiness.
🌿 It is about love.
🌿 It is about edification.
🌿 It is about the glory of God.
🌿 Tongues are not the destination.
JESUS IS.
🌿 The Holy Spirit is not given so we can boast:
“Look what I can do.”
The Spirit glorifies Christ.
🔥 SO DON'T MAKE TWO ERRORS.
Don't say:
🌿 “Everything supernatural is automatically God.”
And don't say:
🌿 “Everything supernatural is automatically false.”
Instead:
TEST EVERYTHING.
📖 1 THESSALONIANS 5:19–21
🌿 “Do not quench the Spirit.”
“Test all things.”
🌿 “Hold fast what is good.”
That's biblical maturity.
🔥 DON'T FEAR THE COUNTERFEIT.
DISCERN IT.
🔥 DON'T WORSHIP THE GIFT.
WORSHIP THE GIVER.
🔥 DON'T MANUFACTURE THE EXPERIENCE.
SEEK GOD.
🔥 DON'T FORBID WHAT SCRIPTURE DOES NOT FORBID.
SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES.
🔥 DON'T LET DENOMINATIONAL TRADITION BECOME MORE AUTHORITATIVE THAN THE WORD OF GOD.
LET SCRIPTURE SPEAK.
🙏 BINDING AND LOOSING PRAYER

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we submit ourselves completely to Your Word and Your Spirit.
We renounce fear, deception, spiritual pride, counterfeit manifestations, and every tradition that contradicts Your truth.

Where there is spiritual blindness, open eyes.
Where there is religious bondage, bring truth.
We refuse to manufacture what only Your Spirit can give.
But we also refuse to reject what Your Word teaches because of human tradition.
🔥 HOLY SPIRIT, HAVE YOUR WAY.

And let every counterfeit be exposed by the light of Scripture.
We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord.
We declare that our bodies belong to You.
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19
We declare that Your Kingdom is not merely words but power.
📖 1 CORINTHIANS 4:20

DON'T LET A DENOMINATION DECIDE WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALLOWED TO DO.
DON'T LET COUNTERFEIT MAKE YOU REJECT THE GENUINE.
DON'T LET EMOTION MAKE YOU ACCEPT THE COUNTERFEIT.
DON'T LET ONE VERSE BE USED TO CANCEL THE REST OF SCRIPTURE.
READ IT ALL.
TEST IT ALL.
OBEY CHRIST.
SEEK THE HOLY SPIRIT.
WALK IN LOVE.
WALK IN HOLINESS.
WALK IN POWER.
Because:
🔥 THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD BUT IN POWER.
🔥 YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
🔥 JESUS IS THE ONE WHO BAPTIZES WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
🔥 THE SPIRIT DISTRIBUTES GIFTS AS HE WILLS.
🔥 AND PAUL SAID: “DO NOT FORBID TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES.”
SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES.
DON'T QUENCH THE SPIRIT.
TEST EVERYTHING.
HOLD FAST TO WHAT IS GOOD.
