The Great Tribulation has a specific name in the Old Testament: the Time of Jacob's Trouble. 🇮🇱 This seven-year period is primarily about God dealing with Israel, purging and refining His chosen people, bringing them to the point where they cry out for their Messiah. It will be the worst time in human history—but especially for the Jewish people.
"For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." (Jeremiah 30:5-7, KJV) "None is like it." No period in history—not the Holocaust, not the Babylonian captivity, not the Roman destruction of Jerusalem—will compare to the Time of Jacob's Trouble. ⏰ Men will be in such anguish they'll look like women in labor. Faces will turn pale with terror. But here's the promise: "he shall be saved out of it." God will deliver Israel. The remnant will be saved. They will look on Him whom they pierced and mourn (Zechariah 12:10), and all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26). 🙏 The Church will not go through this—we are raptured before (1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9). But Israel must face her darkest hour before recognizing her Messiah. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The time is near. 🕊️
