How much of your life has been spent worrying about a tomorrow that never arrived?
Many of us carry burdens that haven’t happened yet. We worry about our finances, our health, our families, our careers, and the uncertainty of the future. But in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives one of the Bible’s most comforting commands:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
This doesn’t mean Jesus ignores our struggles or tells us to stop planning for the future. Instead, He teaches us not to become consumed by anxious fear over things beyond our control.
Earlier in the same chapter, Jesus points to the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. They neither worry nor strive endlessly, yet God faithfully provides for them. If our Heavenly Father cares so deeply for His creation, how much more does He care for those who belong to Him?
Every sunrise is a reminder that God’s mercies are new every morning. He already knows tomorrow before it arrives. He understands every challenge you’ll face and promises His presence through every season of life.
Worry cannot add a single hour to our lives, but trusting God changes how we live today. When we place our future into His hands, we exchange fear for peace, anxiety for faith, and uncertainty for hope.
Whatever burden you’re carrying today, bring it to Jesus. He invites the weary, comforts the anxious, and gives strength to those who trust Him. You don’t have to carry tomorrow’s weight before tomorrow comes.
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for caring about every detail of our lives. Help us release our worries into Your hands and trust that You are already preparing the way before us. Fill our hearts with peace instead of fear, strengthen our faith each day, and remind us that Your mercies are new every morning. Teach us to live one day at a time, resting in Your perfect love and faithful care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
❤️ If this message encouraged you today, comment “Amen,” share it with someone who may be anxious, and remember: God is already in your tomorrow, so you can trust Him today.
