I just recently watched the movie, "Nefarious," and how they similarly breakdown how the devils work like C.S. Lewis's book, Screwtape Letters. I also watched the Shawn Ryan Show with Father Ripperger and that more over confirmed the previous entertainment's description of how the enemy works. The devil is in the details and we need to make sure we make a strong stand against it. Today I am pleased to introduce you to new Order member, Gabriel Williams, from Idaho, who will be in the Priory of King David. I had a very enjoyable phone conversation with brother Gabriel and believe he will be a wonderful addition to the Order. This is what brother Gabriel writes about himself:
"My name is Gabriel Williams. I am a husband to a beautiful wife and a father to a single child at the moment. I was raised in the Four Square, Baptist, and Assemblies of God denominations and now finally I uphold the non denominational beliefs. My parents are apart of the Colson Fellows ministry, which trains Christians to be able to articulate why they believe what they believe, understand better what they believe, and understand and comprehend what other belief systems say and how they differ from Christianity. With this, I have grown up in a house dedicated to apologetics and polemics, giving my siblings and I a foundation for what we believe today.
But not everything is rainbows and daisies. From the ages of 14-20, I rebelled against my family, my friends, my church, and my God. I became a sexual deviant, living an immoral life. During that time, I was sexually assaulted by a man, a stranger, giving additional fuel to my ardent rejection of those around me, specifically the men in my life.
I finally had had enough in my life being miserable. I finally found counseling for myself and drew closer to God. I am still struggling on consist Bible reading as a daily practice but I do use it when studying topics to better understand what my core beliefs are. I try to pray at least once a day, but struggle with consistency too. I have memorized scripture to hold God's words to my heart and that helps me along the way. My wife and I are going to a group meeting with my church for the Truth Rising, so that I can introduce her to the world that I was brought up in, regarding apologetics and polemics.
Finally, having been a nihilistic rebel to God, my rediscovery and studying of Christianity has turned me into something more than a doormat, lukewarm Christian. I am not perfect, but I make sure that no argument that is presented against Christianity goes unchallenged. I whole heartedly believe "Si vis pacem, bellum para," "If you want peace, prepare for war," is a basic way of life a Christian should live. Jesus said that two swords were enough for his companions, which some have concluded those to be the swords against the spiritual and the secular, and I subscribe to that view. 1 Peter 3:15 says, “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;” I will do so."
