Recently, I had just finished our prayer and we had begun to eat, when my friend said "why do you always pray for grace and mercy when they are the same thing"? It turned out to be an extended lunch that day!

Mercy and grace are not the same thing. Yes, they may be similar, but they are not the same!

To ask for God's mercy is to ask for His kindness and compassion. In scripture, it is usually used in the context of God’s not punishing us for our sins. A punishment that we all deserve! In Scripture, mercy is often equated with a deliverance from judgment, such as in Deuteronomy 4:31, "For the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them" and in1 Timothy 1:13, "though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent, but I received mercy because i had acted ignorantly in unbelief."

In receiving Gods grace, it is the extending of His blessings to us knowing that we are not worthy. Two of my favorite expressions of Gods grace are Ephesians 2:8-9 where it is written "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" and 2 Corinthians 12:9, "But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

The goodness of God...
Have you ever just sat back, remembering your life and marveled at how Good God has been to you?
Then you realize that most of the time you didn't even recognize it was Him?
His Mercy, Grace and Goodness have no limits, let my breath be a praise unto you oh Jesus. Let me rejoice in your goodness, because I am of no good at all without you.

Honestly you have to seek, or yearn for Jesus. He doesn't chase us down, rather we should seek after Him. It is a relationship, you can be as close to Jesus as you choose to be. Jesus said seek and you shall find. (Mathew 7:7)
His Words cannot come back void, if you are comfortable in your one day a week situation God allows that, but if you Seek Him, He grows the fruits of Spirit in you. Those fruits touch everyone around you. That comes from a personal relationship.

As I am doing my morning study, I wanted to share Psalm 119:15-16
I will meditate on your precepts, and set my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes. I will not forget your word.
Sometimes we have to reset, and go back to the basics. If we allow God to write His laws on our heart, our journey becomes less about me and more about He who sends me.

The world loves to talk about a “gentle Jesus,” but Scripture refuses to leave Him in the realm of soft sentiment.

Can you imagine being able to work in a place where you get to see God's handy work, and love for each one of us appear every single day?
I am so Blessed, sometimes the Sweetness of God's love just seeps out among us a like a tea. I am thankful that He put me in a position where Christ can be the focus.
